The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Payroll and HRIS Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain script, macro, and Scala-based programming routines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) customer payroll and HR information
- Operate automated processes for acquiring, transforming, and unloading customer private information securely and accurately
- Navigate and utilize payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration platforms to acquire reports and research records from customer systems (platforms include SAP, ADP, Oracle, UKG Ultipro, Dayforce, Ceridian, Workday, PlanSource, and Benefitfocus)
- Manage and support payroll-based file exchange processes, including weekly and alternatively scheduled transmissions of earnings, deductions, and contribution records
- Apply working knowledge of benefit-specific payroll nuances, including Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, Group Term Life, Imputed Income, Proration, 401k Loans, and 401k Employer Match, etc.
- Quickly and thoroughly research records to resolve customer support issues
- Collaborate directly with customer payroll and information teams to provide analysis, correction, and resolution
- Maintain strict information security awareness and observe all policies and procedures with every customer and data interaction
- Visit the company headquarters once per year for strategic planning
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience working with payroll and HRIS platforms such as SAP, ADP, Oracle, UKG Ultipro, Dayforce, Ceridian, Workday, PlanSource, or Benefitfocus
- Strong understanding of payroll reporting structures and HR information system architectures
- Hands-on experience with ETL development, including scripting, macros, and Scala-based programming
- Working knowledge of benefit-specific payroll concepts, including HSA, FSA, Group Term Life, Imputed Income, and retirement plan contributions
- Experience with scheduled file exchange automation for transmitting payroll and benefits data
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex data discrepancies
- Commitment to information security best practices in every customer interaction
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates
