The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact. You will be the steward of our infrastructure, keeping our systems secure, stable, and running at their best. What You Will Do
- Own and manage Dell PowerEdge Ubuntu Linux servers at co-located facilities across two South Carolina data center locations
- Lead SOC2 management and documentation efforts to maintain our security compliance posture
- Develop, maintain, and execute Disaster Recovery plans and System Change and Rollback procedures
- Monitor, patch, and administer operating systems, applications, and databases with a security-first mindset
- Administer MacOS (BSD) environments for employee laptops across the organization
- Manage Meraki firewall configurations, HAProxy, and Web Application Firewall administration
- Own SSL certificate lifecycle management, including tracking calendars, renewal reminders, and coordination with customer IT teams
- Respond promptly to system and application uptime alarms to minimize disruption
- Handle hardware maintenance, including failure replacements, new hardware installation, and migration
- Manage equipment pricing, ordering, and inventory
- Visit two South Carolina data center locations twice per year and the company headquarters once per year for strategic planning
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in enterprise (50+ servers) Linux systems administration, particularly Ubuntu, in a production environment
- Experience supporting virtualized Linux systems using LXD / LXC
- Solid working knowledge of firewall administration (Meraki preferred) and web application security
- Experience with SOC2 compliance and documentation
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery and change management processes
- Comfort working in a small business environment where you own your outcomes
- The ability to lift 50 pounds for server provisioning and decommissioning
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates
